Bullets Women learn their FAM Championship Group A fixtures

FCB Nyasa Bullets Women have learnt the dates and venues they are expected to play their Group A matches following the release of this year’s FAM National Women Championship group stage fixtures.

The National Women’s Football Association released the schedules and match venues on Monday.

Our women’s team, champions of the FAM Women’s Football Southern Region Football League, will open the campaign in their Group A with a test against the third finishers in the FAM Women’s Central Region Football League, Destiny Academy, on 11 March at the Mpira Stadium in Blantyre.

Three weeks later our ladies will travel to Lilongwe for a morning fixture against the six-time FAM National Women Championship winners, DD Sunshine, at Civo Stadium on 1 April.

The Maggie Chombo ladies, who finished top in their 2022 regional league campaign with 42 points, scoring 169 goals and conceding three in 14 games, are expected to go for their third match on 15 April when they will host Topik Sisters at the Mpira Stadium.

Topik completed their Northern Region Women’s Football League campaign with 24 points, scoring 19 goals and conceding 11 in 14 games to finish third and earn a national championship slot.

Concluding the group stages will see our ladies take a trip to the north where they are set to battle it out against the first-place winners of the FAM Women’s Northern Region League, CY Sisters, on 22 April at Mzuzu Stadium.

Reacting following the release of the FAM National Women’s Championship draw a week ago, Bullets Women’s Head Coach, Chombo, told club media that her side was fully prepared to take on any challenges ahead despite being drawn in a group which has been labelled ‘The Group of Death’.
