The 2024 season was a historic one for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women as they clinched the Goshen-FAM Southern Region Women’s championship without a loss and scoring the highest number of goals.
After guiding the team to a successful campaign, coach Maggie Chombo, defender Sharon Dzimau and midfielder Tendai Sani, have earned nominations for the prestigious 2024 FAM Football Awards.
Their journey to this recognition was a testament to their leadership, hard work and undeniable talent for the mentor, captain and top goal scorer.
Maggie Chombo
The former Malawi forward and captain, now coaching Bullets Women, led the team to a remarkable season as her side won the league title unbeaten with 50 points.
From 18 games played, Chombo’s girls registered 16 wins and two draws, scoring 148 goals and conceded only nine to reclaim the league title they had lost to Kukoma Ntopwa Women in the 2023/24 campaign.

Sharon Dzimau
The team’s captain and defensive stalwart, was the backbone of Bullets’ success. Known for her composure, tactical intelligence, and unwavering leadership, Dzimau was the glue that held the team together.
Throughout the season, Dzimau marshalled the defense with authority and ensuring the team conceded the fewest goals in the league. Her dedication to the game and her team was unmatched, and her nomination for the FAM Awards in the Women’s Best XI defenders was a well-deserved recognition of her contributions.
Tendai Sani
While Dzimau anchored the defense, Sani was the creative force in midfield. With her dazzling footwork, vision, and goal-scoring prowess, she was a nightmare for opposing teams.
Sani, who is competing for Best Attacker and Footballer of the Year (2024), finished the season as the league’s top scorer, finding the back of the net 65 times out of the 148 goals Maggie Chombo’s girls scored. Her nomination for the FAM Awards is a celebration of her incredible season and her impact on the league.
