Club president pledges more support to Bullets Women

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets president Konrad Buckle has reaffirmed the club’s commitment to ensuring the women’s team receives the maximum support.

He pledged on Friday when the club hosted the women’s team to celebrate its triumph in the 2024/25 season.

Bullets Women won the Goshen-FAM Women’s Southern Region League title unbeaten with 50 points, registering 16 wins and two draws. They scored 148 goals and conceded only nine.

“I’m very proud of what you have achieved. FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is a family, and although we don’t come to each of your games, we take note of what you achieve,” said the club president “There are bigger things to come.”

He added: “As a Board and Management, we want to show appreciation for what you have done, the hard work that you have put in. Just to show that you’re not ignored, we know what you are doing. To the CEO, there’s a directive from myself and the Board that the support you’ve given to our girls’ team, doesn’t need to stay the same, it needs to get better.”

Buckle also congratulated the team on scoring the most goals in the competition. Midfielder Tendai Sani received a special club award for finishing as the competition’s top scorer with 65 goals.

The club gave the squad and officials K7 million to share, on top of the K4 million they will receive as prize money for winning the regional championship.

After clinching the Southern Region title, Bullets Women automatically qualified for the FAM-Goshen Women’s League national championship, set to take place on dates the Malawi FA is yet to announce.

Bullets Women’s coach Maggie Chombo Sadik described the meeting with the club president and the club’s commitment towards the team’s welfare as timely.

“This is a big motivation to the girls as we prepare for the national championship. Thanks to the president, the Board and the management.

“I would also like to thank the girls for an incredible season, their hard work and team spirit have been truly inspiring. Extending my gratitude to my technical panel for the unwavering support throughout the season, together we make a great team,” said Chombo-Sadik.

Speaking on behalf of the players, captain Sharon Dzimawu said: “We are grateful for the recognition and support from the club. It means a lot to us and will motivate us to work even harder and strive for excellence in the upcoming campaign.”
