Defending champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will face rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the FDH Bank Round of 16.
This was confirmed following the Nomads’ 3-0 victory over Cobbe Barracks at Balaka Stadium on Monday afternoon.
Pasuwa’s men reached the Last 16 of the competition with a 5-0 thumping of Bangwe All Stars at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.
It will be our second meeting with the blue side of Blantyre in this competition after we smashed them 4-0 in the semis of the 2022 edition at the Bingu National Stadium, where Kalisto Pasuwa’s men proceeded to defend the trophy after beating MAFCO in the final.
The People’s Team is the most successful in the competition. We grabbed it first in 2022 before reclaiming it in 2023, the season we won the historic domestic quadruple.
As for the Nomads, they have reached the semis of the competition three times, losing 3-0 to Silver Strikers in 2021, 4-0 to Bullets in 2022 and 1-0 to Mafco FC in the 2023 season.
The Football Association of Malawi will announce the dates and venues for the next stage of the competition.
