FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is delighted to announce the appointment of Heston Munthali as the new head coach for our reserves.
Munthali, a CAF B Coaching License holder, will replace Enos Chatama, who left his position at the club last month.
The 42-year-old, a former Bullets and Malawi forward, has been holding different coaching roles at The People’s Team since 2017 when he arrived as our first team’s strikers’ trainer.
In 2018, he served as an interim head coach after the departure of Eliya Kananji and Rodgers Yasin. In the same year, Munthali was appointed as the second assistant coach following the arrival of head coach, Kalisto Pasuwa, who left the club in December.
Munthali said following his appointment:
“It’s an honour to be appointed the head coach of Bullets Reserves. I want to take this opportunity to thank the Board and Management for entrusting me to lead the team, and I am looking forward to working to the best of my abilities.”
Chief executive officer Albert Chigoga said:
“As a club we are happy to have agreed to stay with Coach Heston Munthali. Following his arrival as a coach in 2017 when he had FAM C License, the club has done a lot in developing him as a coach, he now holds a CAF B License, which is very commendable. And being in the first team backroom staff, he has amassed a wealth of experience and we believe with that our reserves team is in save hands.
“As management of the club we pledge to give him full support to achieve what we want to achieve to develop young players and feed into our first team. We are happy for him that he is staying with us and we will continue to support him.”
