Inside Bullets this week

Share

Two of our four teams will be in action in their respective competitions this week. Let’s take a look at what’s coming ahead for the Bullets.

First Team

Kalisto Pasuwa’s charges had a very busy period last week when they played in the TNM Super League against Bangwe All Stars on Friday before travelling to Lilongwe to play Silver Strikers as part of the Kamuzu Day celebrations at Civo Stadium on Sunday. The People’s Team triumphed in these two encounters, winning 2-0 and 1-0, respectively.

Now, the defending champions will continue chasing points when they return to Lilongwe for a league match against Civil Service United on Sunday at Civo.

Bullets are the current log leaders with 13 points from four wins and a draw in the opening five matches of this campaign as Pasuwa eyes a fifth successive TNM Super League championship with The People’s Team.

Reserves

Enos Chatama’s charges will face Ntaja United on Thursday in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League. The match was supposed to be played on Monday but it was moved to Thursday because our Reserve team had a cup game against Mpondas in which they convincingly won 5-0.

It will be an entertaining clash between the two teams who are slowly building a rivalry. Ntaja United was the first team to end Bullets Reserves’ unbeaten run in more than four seasons when they won 1-0 at Ntaja last season.

Chatama’s charges then they will proceed to Mulanje to face FOMO in another league assignment.

Women

They failed to defend the FAM National Women’s Championship but all was not lost for Maggie Chombo’s side when they defeated DD Sunshine 4-3 on penalties following a 1-1 draw in normal time to finish with a bronze medal on Monday.

In a season they only lost once, our women’s team will now go for a short break before resuming training in preparation for the new FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League campaign expected to start next month.

Youth

They are waiting for the FCB Under-19 Cup, which again kicks off in June. As of now, they are only having friendly games in readiness for the competition which they are hoping to win for the first time.

Autry Kalulu will strive to add another trophy to his name after winning the inaugural Africa Herbal Mixture U-19 Cup last month.

We are looking forward to a productive week for all our teams involved. Winning is a tradition for The People’s Team.
