Inside Bullets this week

It’s another busy week for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets as all our four teams will be involved this weekend.

Let’s take a look at what’s coming ahead…

First Team

Kalisto Pasuwa’s charges have another huge task as they will be hosted by cross-town rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers in the first Blantyre derby of the TNM Super League this campaign.

Although playing at Kamuzu Stadium, The People’s Team will be away on Saturday afternoon, looking to bounce back from last weekend’s goalless outing to Kamuzu Barracks in Lilongwe.

The defending champions trail Silver Strikers with three points, and they need to beat their rivals to keep pace with the Central Bankers who have started the current season positively and remain the only side to lose this term.

Saturday’s tie is a high-class match between the two rivals. The Nomads will also be looking for a positive result from a disappointing weekend as they gave away their lead at home to draw 1-1 with Dedza Salima Sugar at Kamuzu Stadium.

As Kalisto Pasuwa will be looking to claim all the points and the bragging rights in the Blantyre derby, Mark Harrison on the other hand will go for all three points as he is reportedly given a target to collect at least 12 points in the remaining five games of the first round.

Reserves

Our team B will be travelling to Mponela to play Chisomo Academy in the Champions Cup at Champions Stadium on Sunday.

This will be our first game in the competition. Enos Chatama and his charges travel to the Central Region to maintain our unbeaten run at the facility, having defeated Dzaleka Future FC on post-match penalties during the competition’s launch in May.

They travel to Mponela having rested last weekend after their fixture against Mangochi United was rescheduled to a later date.

Youth

Autrey Kalulu’s youngsters will be striving to bounce back from their disappointing 1-all draw against Manchester Motors in the FCB Under-19 Cup when they return to Kamuzu Stadium to host Soche Madrid.

Second in the standings in Group A with seven points from three games, the youth team will be looking forward to continuing from where they stopped when they last faced Saturday’s opposition in the African Herbal Mix Cup in which we won 4-0.

Women

As they continue fine-tuning for the new season in the FAM Women’s Football Southern Region Football League slated for July, Maggie Chombo and her team will be travelling to the Eastern Region where they will face Mozambican side United Desportivo de Lichinga Women at Ntembo Upper Stadium on Friday.

Expectations

The first team is in for a treaty as they face their bitter rivals where, apart from the points, the bragging rights are at stake. Pasuwa’s charges have to win and cushion the three-point gap against Silver Strikers before the Malawi National Team’s trip to South Africa for the Hollywood Bet Cosafa Cup, which kicks off on 5 July in Durban.
