It’s a new week and Nyasa Big Bullets will return to the fields as they look to maintain their perfect forms heading towards the end of the 2022 season.
We take a look at what’s lined up for the first team, the reserves and the women’s side this week in their respective competitions.
Men’s main team
After securing their fourth straight TNM Super League title on Saturday, Kalisto Pasuwa’s side returns to action and will hit the road when they travel to Karonga for the quarterfinal second leg of the Airtel Top 8 against Karonga United.
Bullets have a 7-goal lead over their opponents and they go into Saturday’s away match as favourites for a semifinal slot where they will play the winner between Kamuzu Barracks and Silver Strikers.
The return leg will be played at Karonga Stadium on Saturday afternoon after the two sides met in the first leg at Kamuzu Stadium two weeks ago.
Women
Our women’s team is having a roller-coaster season in which they have so far won all eight games in the Southern Region FAM Women’s League. They are coming from a 13-0 thrashing of Chikwawa Queens away at the weekend in their first game of the second round.
The Maggie Chombo ladies have 24 points and they will look to maintain their perfect form when they host Atu Bullets at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.
Bullets Women are by far the highest-scoring team with more than 60 goals as they continue to score for fun.
Reserves
Enos Chatama’s men will travel to Mangochi for their final group match in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League when they visit MDF Marine on Thursday.
Sitting pretty at the top with 49 points, Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves will look forward to continuing from where they stopped in the first round when they hammered the military side 3-0 at Kamuzu Stadium.
Whatever the outcome, Bullets Reserves are assured of advancing to the knockout phase on top of Group 2 as they currently have a five-point lead over the second-placed side.
The youngsters are coming from a 0-1 win over Kamuzu Barracks Reserves to reach the final of the Aubrey Dimba Trophy in Mchinji last Sunday.
After the Mangochi trip, Chatama’s side will switch focus to the Nyasa Capital Finance Cup when they travel to Nsanje to play Nsanje United in the semifinals on a date yet to be communicated.
A win in Nsanje will see them edging closer to retaining the Cup which they won in its inaugural season last year.
Youth
After bowing out of the First Capital Bank U-20 League, the youth team will be out of action as they wait for the Manchester Motor Spares Cup which kicks off in December.
