Inside Bullets this week

Building up to the start of our 2024 CAF Champions League campaign, here’s what to look out for at The People’s Team this week.

First Team

After a disappointing 1-1 draw at home against Moyale Barracks, Kalisto Pasuwa’s men will switch their attention to the CAF Champions League’s second-legged first preliminary round against Red Arrows.

Welcoming the Zambian champions at the Bingu National Stadium on Sunday, Bullets must rise to the party and secure a win ahead of the return leg in Lusaka next week.

The 2023 quadruple winners are struggling in the domestic league, while doing well in the FDH Bank Cup, reaching the semifinals and will again take on Moyale in the capital next Wednesday.

Following our ninth draw this season on Sunday, the defending champions maintained fifth position in the standings with 24 points, trailing with 16 points in the title race.

Under 19s

Our youth side is enjoying fine form in the 2024 FCB Katswiri Under-20 League and this week they are on the road to face Young Stars at Police Training School Ground on Friday, before taking on Extending Hope at Chilomoni Stadium on Monday.

Bullets Under-19s lead the table with 16 points after winning five games and drawing once. They have scored 15 goals and conceded two.

Women

Bullets Women had to register a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Ndirande Soccer Giants to move second in the standings with nine points from three games.

Maggie Chombo’s ladies have scored 32 goals and are just a point behind Kukoma Ntopwa Women, who have played a game more than Bullets.

Meanwhile, the Goshen-FAM Women’s League has been put on hold to accommodate the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League COSAFA Qualifiers which Malawi is hosting starting this Thursday.

Reserves

Enos Chatama’s boys are still on bay waiting for the second round of the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League, which resumes next week.
