Inside Bullets this week

Share

The October International Break commenced on Monday, but it’s business as usual at FCB Nyasa Big Bullets.

We have several on and off-the-pitch activities involving the club and our sponsors.

Below is a lowdown of what to look out for at Bullets this week.

THURSDAY

FCB customer service week

Our sponsors, First Capital Bank, are having a Customer Service Week, and on Thursday, several first-team players will participate in the day’s activities in Blantyre.

Kalisto Pasuwa’s press conference

The head coach will hold a pre-match press conference in the build-up to our Castel Challenge Cup Round of 64 fixture against Kumanda All Stars.

SATURDAY

14h30 – Bullets v Kumanda All Stars

Bullets will start the Castel Challenge Cup title defence with a tie against Kumanda All Stars. It will be the first meeting between the title holders and the non-league Blantyre Rural champions.

The first team is active in the ongoing International Break because it has contributed only one player, Lloyd Aaron, to the Malawi National Football Team, which will face Senegal in back-to-back 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

SUNDAY

Our teams have three fixtures on Sunday following the postponement of our reserves’ Wednesday trip to Monkey Bay to face MMF Marines in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League.

09h30 – Bullets U19s v Jimmy Zazazaka Academy

Our developmental side will be looking to bounce back from their 2-2 draw against Yizo Yizo Warriors on Sunday when they take on Jimmy Zakazaka Academy at Kamuzu Stadium.

Yamikani Fodya’s youngsters were dislodged from the top position by Agumbala FC, who have a two-point lead over us in the FCB Katswiri Under-20 championship race.

In July, the young Bullets were 3-0 winners over Sunday’s opponents in the reverse fixture. They are currently second in the table with 35 points from 16 games.

12h30 – Bullets Women v FOMO Ladies

Our ladies’ team will start the second round of the 2024 campaign with an away fixture when they travel to Mulanje to play FOMO Ladies at Esperance.

Maggie Chombo’s side leads the Goshen-FAM Women’s Southern Region League with 25 points from nine games, three points above Kukoma Ntopwa Women.

The first-round tie between the two teams ended 20-0 in our favour. Bullets, seeking to reclaim the regional championship, are the highest-scoring team in the league with 82 goals, conceding eight.

Bullets have yet to lose a game this campaign, having registered a single draw against Bangwe All Stars Women.

15h00 – Bullets Reserves v Ekhaya

Enos Chatama’s boys have been inactive for the last two weeks after contributing nine players to the Malawi Under 20 side that participated in the just-ended Cosafa Youth Championship in Mozambique.

Second in the standings with 31 points from 16 games, a win against Ekhaya in their next match will see our Team B closing in on rivals Mighty Wanderers Reserves in the table. The young Nomads have 36 points from 19 games.
