Only three of our teams will be involved in their divisions during this FIFA International Break.
Kalisto Pasuwa’s first team has no fixtures scheduled until the end of the break, as six FCB Nyasa Big Bullets stars are with the Malawi senior national team.
The Flames will face Burundi away in Ivory Coast on Thursday and Burkina Faso in Lilongwe next Monday in their last 2025 African Cup of Nations Qualifiers.
With our first team having no games, this week’s focus is on the women’s, reserves, and U19 teams.
Let’s look at what’s in store at The People’s Team this week.
Tuesday-Friday
All four teams continue their routine training sessions until Friday, with the ladies, reserves, and youth teams set to play on Saturday and Sunday.
SATURDAY
14h00 – Bullets U19s v Young Stars
Fresh from a comfortable 4-0 win over Lyzee United in the FCB Katswiri Under 20 League last Sunday, our youth team will travel to Mpira Village to take on Young Stars on Saturday.
Yamikani Fodya’s boys are ten points behind the league leaders, Agumbala FC, who have 55 points, while we have 45. A win will see them cut the gap to seven points as the championship race against the league leaders continues.
SUNDAY
13h00 – Bullets Women v Ndirande Stars
Maggie Chombo’s side, topping the Goshen-FAM Women’s Football League standings with 28 points from 10 games, will look to continue with their fine form after they hammered Bangwe All Stars 3-0 on Saturday.
They are facing a demanding customer in Ndirande Stars, who nearly frustrated us in the first round before we scored late to claim a hard-fought 1-0 victory.
A win will see Bullets Women edging closer to winning the league, which is currently in the hands of Kukoma Ntopwa Women, who are second in the table with 25 points from the same number of games.
15h00 – Bullets Reserves v Ekhaya FC
Enos Chatama’s boys haven’t had an impressive start to the last eight of the ThumbsUp Southern Region League, as they have now registered two draws in the championship race.
Bullets Reserves drew 0-0 with Ntaja United before another goalless stalemate against Ndirande Stars at home.
They must win on Sunday to keep their hopes alive. They face Ekhaya FC, a team that has collected four points from the same number of games. The two teams recently met in the group stages, and our reserves recorded a hard-earned 1-0 victory.
