Inside Bullets this week

It’s another busy week for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets as three of our four teams will be involved in their respective competitions.

Here is a guide to how the new week looks for the men’s first team, the women’s side and the reserves.

First Team

Straight from our 1-1 draw away to Silver Strikers in the 2023 TNM Super League campaign opener at Bingu National Stadium on Saturday, the men’s senior team returns to Kamuzu Stadium for the first home league match of the season against Mafco FC on Sunday.

The home game presents a chance to Kalisto Pasuwa’s charges to hunt for a win and get their foot off the peddle as they strive to defend the league title.

Pasuwa’s charges never lost a game at home in the 2022 season, and they will be geared to maintain a perfect record whenever they face any opposition at Kamuzu Stadium.

This will be followed with yet another trip away to Extreme FC next week.

Women

Fresh from a comfortable 4-0 win over CY Sisters on Sunday in the FAM Women’s National Championship, our women’s team will travel to Mzuzu for their final Group A match against Topik at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday.

At the summit of the Group A table, Maggie Chombo’s side has nine points from three wins and victory in Mzuzu will see them finish top of the standings with 12 points before going into the knockout stages.

Reserves

Enos Chatama’s charges will begin the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League title defense against Zomba Airbase at Mpira Stadium on Monday.

Bullets Reserves will head into this tie straight from a 1-0 defeat away to Nchalo Stars in a preseason friendly match away in Nchalo on Sunday.

Chatama’s charges haven’t lost at home for the past four seasons in the Premier Division and will strive to maintain their perfect home record to kickstart their title defense.

Youth

Our U-19 youngsters will not be involved this weekend after cruising to the final of the Africa Herbal Mix after they hammered Soche Madrid 4-1 at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday to set up a mini-Blantyre derby against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers Youth on 30 April.
