Fresh from lifting the Airtel Top 8 Cup in Lilongwe, it’s another action-packed week for the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets family. The first team shifts focus back to TNM Super League duty, while our women’s side finally kicks off its NBM Women’s Championship campaign. Meanwhile, the reserves and youth teams are set for important league fixtures at home.
Coach Mponda’s Pre-Match Presser
Our head coach, Peter Mponda, will address the media on Thursday ahead of Sunday’s Super League clash against Blue Eagles. The presser, to be held at our club offices, will focus on preparations, squad updates, and the team’s mindset as we return to league action after our Airtel Top 8 triumph.
Bullets Women – NBM Women’s Championship Kickoff
The wait is over for Bullets Women, who begin their campaign in the newly launched NBM Women’s Championship against Kukoma Ntopwa Women at Mpira Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Under the guidance of Coach Maggie Chombo, the team is primed to make a strong statement in the competition, which replaces the former FAM National Women’s Championship. The opening match promises a thrilling contest as Bullets Women aim to start their journey with a statement victory.
Under-19s – BDYFC League vs CC Stars
Our Young Maule have made a flying start to the Blantyre District Youth Football Committee (BDYFC) League, winning their first two games and scoring six goals without conceding.
On Sunday morning, they face CC Stars at Kamuzu Stadium, looking to build on their dominant 4-0 victory over Nthutha Academy last weekend. Coach Yamikani Fodya will be pushing his side to maintain their perfect start and solidify their early position at the top of the table.
Kick-off is scheduled for 09:00, opening the day’s triple-header.
Bullets Reserves – ThumbsUp League vs Chilobwe United
After a hard-fought 1-1 draw away at Chilomoni FC, the Bullets Reserves return home to face Chilobwe United in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League on Sunday.
Currently joint-top of the table with 27 points, level with Ekhaya Reserves—who have a game in hand against Mighty Tigers Reserves—Coach Heston Munthali’s men will be determined to bounce back to winning ways as the battle for the summit intensifies. This clash will kick off at 11:00 AM, following the Under-19s match.
First Team – TNM Super League vs Blue Eagles
After the euphoria of our Airtel Top 8 triumph, The People’s Team returns to league action on Sunday, 20 July, welcoming Blue Eagles to Kamuzu Stadium.
With the TNM Super League title race heating up, Peter Mponda’s men will be eager to build on their winning momentum and give the Maule faithful another reason to celebrate. Kick-off is at 14:30, and fans are expected to pack Kamuzu Stadium for what will be our first home fixture since the cup success in the Capital.
Triple Header at Kamuzu Stadium
Sunday will be a feast of football at Kamuzu Stadium, with three Bullets teams in action—the Under-19s, Reserves, and the First Team. Fans are encouraged to come early and enjoy a full day of action as The People’s Team looks to continue its dominance across all levels.
