Match preview: Red Arrows v Bullets

Share

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are away to Red Arrows for the return match of the CAF Champions League first preliminary round at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Saturday afternoon.

The Airmen stand between The People’s Team and an extended run in the continent’s biggest club football competition as they look to navigate to the final qualifying round through to the group stages.

Carrying a 2-1 lead from their first-leg victory, Kalisto Pasuwa said on Friday that Bullets anticipate a tough afternoon against the Zambian champions.

FORM GUIDE

Bullets head into the clash enjoying a good winning run in the Champions League and the FDH Bank Cup.

Pasuwa’s men defeated Arrows 2-1 courtesy of a strike each from Babatunde Adepoju and Precious Phiri at Bingu National Stadium last Sunday.

Three days later, The People’s Team returned to the same venue to comfortably eliminate Moyale Barracks from the FDH Bank Cup with a 3-1 win to reach our third successive final through Babatunde’s brace and a strike from Ephraim Kondowe.

As for our opponents, they go into this match straight from the first-leg defeat. They played no game in between and are heading into this match with fresh legs, having rested since playing us last Sunday.

HEAD-TO-HEAD

This will be the second meeting between the two teams. There isn’t much to write about apart from these two meetings which will decide the team to proceed to the final qualifying round where the Democratic Republic of Congo’s TP Mazembe awaits.

TEAM NEWS

All Kalisto Pasuwa players who played in the first leg in Lilongwe are available for selection this afternoon. Clyde Senaji and Yankho Singo, who were rested midweek, are also available, including Lloyd Aaron, who limped off on Wednesday.

Only Chikumbutso Salima is a major doubt for this match and will have to face a late fitness test to see if he can be named in our matchday squad.
