Seven Bullets named in Malawi squad for CHAN qualifiers

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have seven players in Malawi’s team for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers.

Richard Chimbamba, Alick Lungu, Lloyd Aaron, Yankho Singo, Wongani Lungu, Chikumbutso Salima and Ephraim Kondowe have been included in Kalisto Pasuwa’s 27-member squad to face Comoros.

Malawi will first play Comoros in an away assignment at the Bingu National Stadium on Sunday 2 March, before taking on The Coelacanths at the same venue in the second leg of their first-round campaign six days later.

Comoros have chosen the BNS as their home venue due to the unavailability of CAF certified facilities in their country.

The winner between Malawi and Comoros will face the winner between South Africa and Egypt in the last round of the qualifiers with the winner of that tie booking a place at the final tournament to be held in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in August.

Malawi will be aiming to secure their first-ever qualification for the CHAN tournament which is participated by players from domestic leagues.
