FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Women’s NBM Women’s Premiership Week Six fixture against Topik Academy has been rescheduled for this Sunday, 5 October, at Kamuzu Stadium. Kick-off is at 10:00 AM.
The match was initially set for two weeks ago but was postponed due to the Malawi Under-20 Women’s national team’s involvement in the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers.
The junior Scorchers, coached by Bullets Women head coach Maggie Chombo, made history by advancing to the third round after eliminating South Sudan.
Bullets Women last played on 7 September, when they lost 3-1 away to Ascent Academy in Lilongwe — a result that halted their push into the top four before the break.
They currently sit seventh in the standings with seven points from five games, but victory on Sunday would propel them into the top half of the table.
Chombo will be hoping for the return of captain Zainab Kapanda and forward Mary Chavinda, who both sustained injuries during the Ascent game.
Meanwhile, Asimenye Mwanyongo returns to the squad fresh from representing Malawi U20, having featured in both legs of the 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup qualifiers against South Sudan.
Venessa Issa, however, did not feature in the qualifiers and will be available for Sunday’s league fixture.
This will be only the second-ever meeting between Bullets Women and the Mzuzu-based Topik Academy. Our first clash came in the 2023 National Championship, where Maule cruised to a 7-1 victory. That emphatic result will provide confidence heading into Sunday’s contest.
Sunday’s early kick-off will also serve as the curtain-raiser to a blockbuster day in Blantyre, as the men’s first team take on TNM Super League champions Silver Strikers later in the afternoon.
A win would see Bullets Women break into the top four and regain momentum in their Premiership campaign.
Topik Academy, however, are still searching for their first victory of the season and will be determined to use this platform to upset the hosts.
