Nyasa Big Bullets Women have maintained their perfect start to FAM Women’s Southern Region Football League after they trashed Bangwe Super Queens 10-0 at Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
Vanessa Chikupira scored four goals, with the other strikes coming from Tendai Sani, Chimwemwe Sapangwa, Fauza Muhammad, Pilirani Malola, Chimwemwe Billy and Mary Chavinda.
The win sees the Maggie Chombo’s ladies maintaining their unbeaten start to the season to three games from which 44 goals have been scored.
Chombo says she is delighted with how they have started the campaign but has warned her charges to avoid complacency.
“It’s a good start to the season from the ladies who are giving it all whenever they are playing. It’s always a good feeling to keep on winning regardless of the opponents,” she told club media.
“But we shouldn’t get carried because we have just started and we have plenty of games coming. We need to remain focused and avoid complacency so that we continue doing well.”
Bullets Women started the 2022 campaign with a 7-1 win over Bvumbwe before hammering Chikwawa Queens 28-0.
Mary Chavinda, who has 16 goals to her name, is the overall current top scorer seconded by Chikupira with eight goals.
Next on the assignment for Chombo’s side is Blantyre Hotspurs, who lost 12-0 to Ntopwa.
In the standings, both Bullets Women and Ntopwa have nine points but Chombo’s girls have a superior goal difference.
