Coach Maggie Chombo and four of our Bullets have joined the Malawi National Women’s Team’s eight-day camp during this FIFA International Women’s window.
Scorchers coach Lovemore Faziri has called 30 players from across the domestic regional leagues to put together a team for the Cosafa Women’s Championship slated for October.
Our women’s team trainer, Chombo, who has coached the Scorchers before, returns to the national team as Faziri’s assistant.
The players are defender Grace Yotamu and midfielders Lyna James, Pilirani Malora and Tendai Sani. Fullback Bernadettar Mkandawire has withdrawn due to injury.
Before the COSAFA tournament, Malawi is also expected to have an International friendly match during the September International Window.
