FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are delighted to confirm the return of defender Bernadetta Mkandawire, who rejoins the club on a short-term contract.
The 22-year-old Malawi international returns to Bullets Women after a brief spell with Kazakhstan’s BIIK Shymkent, whom she joined in December 2024.
Mkandawire is no stranger to The People’s Team setup, having previously spent over two years with the club after joining from Blantyre Zero in 2022. She quickly established herself as a key figure at the back and played a vital role in Bullets’ domestic campaigns during her first stint.
Her comeback adds experience, energy, and defensive strength to Maggie Chombo’s squad as the team continues its charge in the ongoing 2025 NBM Women’s Premiership.
Speaking on her return, Mkandawire expressed excitement at rejoining the team she called home: “It feels great to be back. This club has always been special to me and I’m ready to give my best and help the team finish the season strong.”
Head coach Maggie Chombo welcomed the return of the defender, describing it as a timely boost: “Bernadetta is a player who understands our system. Her experience, pace and tactical awareness will be valuable as we head into a crucial part of the season.
Mkandawire’s return comes as Bullets Women continue to push for silverware and build on a strong start to their 2025 campaign.
