The goalkeeper has brought her four-year spell with Maule Ladies to an end, closing a chapter that stretches back to 2015.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets can confirm that Thokozani Mwase has left the club.
She was among the players who became part of the Bullets Women setup following the club’s acquisition of Blantyre Zero in 2022, having joined the former side in 2015.
Her departure ends an association spanning more than a decade, including seven years with Blantyre Zero before making the transition into the Bullets era.
Mwase made her final appearance in Sunday’s SRWFA Mayor’s Bonanza semi-final against Ekhaya at Mpira Stadium.
The goalkeeper signed off with an assured display, making several important saves as the sides played out a goalless 90 minutes before Ekhaya progressed 4-3 on penalties.
After the final whistle, Mwase was given a fitting send-off by her teammates and team officials at Mpira Stadium as she brought her time with the club to a close.
Mwase was part of a successful period for Bullets Women following the team’s transition from Blantyre Zero.
She helped Maule Ladies complete an unbeaten campaign to win the 2022 FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League before the team went on to lift the 2022 FAM National Women’s Championship.
Another regional title followed in 2024, when Bullets reclaimed the Goshen-FAM Women’s Football Southern Region League crown after completing another unbeaten campaign.
She leaves Bullets with three major honours — two Southern Region league titles and the national championship.
The 31-year-old has also represented Malawi at senior international level and was part of the Scorchers setup that qualified for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations.
Her departure is the second from Bullets Women in recent days after Ioulia Yiannakis also bid farewell to Maule Ladies following Friday’s Mayor’s Bonanza quarter-final victory over Chilomoni Ladies.
For Mwase, Sunday brought an end to four years representing The People’s Team and an association with the side dating back to 2015.
