Strikes from Patrick Mwaungulu, Hassan Kajoke, Lanjesi Nkhoma, Ephraim Kondowe and Chawangwa Gumbo have been nominated for the Precious Medical International Goal of the Month for November.
The People’s Team scored eight goals in seven games played in November and five of those strikes stood out to make it on the nomination list.
We take you through the beauty of the strikes and leave you to decide the best.
Mwaungulu vs Red Lions
The beauty of this goal is that it demands the creative midfielder to pull an exquisite subtle piece of skill to get on the scoresheet. On the run, Mwaungulu produces a fine volley with his first touch to put us in front at the Balaka Stadium over the now-relegated Red Lions.
Such a special effort would have been enough to collect the maximum points had the hots failed to force a late equalizer to rescue a point with a 1-1 stalemate. From a truly special player, it was a spectacular goal and one that surely deserves the nomination.
Gumbo vs Lipulumundu
Against a tricky side which had shown stubborn resilience against The People’s Team in the early stages of the round of 64 of the Castel Challenge Cup, Gumbo announced himself in the tie with a cracking stunner far away from the area.
Upon receiving the ball from Eric Kaonga inside the arc area, the former Ekwendeni Hammers captain took a sure close control before firing a rocket of a strike in our 2-0 triumph over the division one side which is now destined for the premier division adventure.
Kajoke vs Blue Eagles
Released by a crisp through-ball from Mwaungulu a bit far from the area, our no.9 had to win a fierce footrace against his marker to get into the box and dispatch a posh finish past the Eagles ‘keeper.
The striker did not easily get himself in a one-on-one situation and when he did, he still had the lasting power and the composure to pounce. Given the qualities it took Kajoke to accomplish this goal in our 3-2 triumph in the Airtel Top 8, a nomination for him is of no surprise.
Nkhoma vs Blue Eagles
Set through by clever play from Mwaungulu, the wing forward displayed the instincts of an ice-cold killer to get himself on the scorers’ list with a hard target finish. He wastes no time upon receiving the ball but to take a touch and with his weaker left foot beat the shot-stopper at the far post from what looked like an impossible angle due to his body positioning.
Nkhoma has managed to score a lot of goals this season for us but this one, in this particular time, proved to be special enough to earn the nomination for November’s GOTM award proudly sponsored by Precious Medical International.
Kondowe vs Blue Eagles
The striker continues to bag splendid strikes since his move from Mighty Mukuru Wanderers. Against Blue Eagles in November, Kondowe was at it again with a mouth-watering finish. He reads intently a run made by Alick Lungu down the left byline and perfects his run to arrive at the right place and produce a lovely touch into the back of the net, finishing off a lovely team move.
It is of no surprise, provided the quality involved in this goal, that Kondowe’s effort makes it on the nomination list.
