Lanjesi Nkhoma has been voted the Hubertus Clausius Player of the Month for December.
The winger made five appearances from the six matches FCB Nyasa Big Bullets played in the last month of the season and largely starred in those minutes under his belt.
Nkhoma fired The People’s Team to the quarter-finals of the Castel Challenge Cup, scoring a goal and recording two assists in our home win against Civil Service United. Following that intriguing display, the winger was recognized with the Man of the Match award.
In the match that followed in the newly introduced cup, the 26-year-old also registered an assist to help The People’s Team proceed to the semi-finals where Kalisto Pasuwa’s men defeated our cross-town rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.
Wrapping up the month, Nkhoma scored the equalizer against Silver Strikers to force the Castel Challenge Cup final to go into penalty shootouts and Maule got their name scribed on the trophy after emerging 4-2 winners.
With this outrageous level of output, Nkhoma, who has finished the season as our top goal scorer in all competitions with 20 goals, truly deserves the award.
Congrats Lanjesi and enjoy your off-season holiday!
