Saviel moves to Mufulira Wanderers

Emmanuel Saviel has completed a permanent move to Mufulira Wanderers.

The forward has signed a three-year contract with the Zambia Super League side.

Since joining our reserves from Uwe Kicks in 2020, the 19-year-old has been a standout talent within our ranks.

With a big contribution, the boy from Bangwe Township helped Bullets Reserves win everything there was to compete for.

In the two seasons that he played for Enos Chatama’s squad, he impressively scored a staggering number of 96 goals.

His most prolific season came in 2022 when Bullets Reserves scooped a quadruple as well as reached the most historic FDH Bank Cup final spot, which turned them against their big brothers, our main team.

Having impressed on the big stage, Saviel earned a promotion to Kalisto Pasuwa’s first team at the start of the 2023 season.

Looking to get him acclimatized to the heat of Malawi’s top-flight football, the club loaned him to Bangwe All Stars, who had just earned their first-ever promotion into the TNM Super League.

On loan, Saviel continued to put up hard-to-ignore performances, racking up as many appearances for the Bangwe All Stars.

Despite a goal drought in the league, he managed to finish his loan spell winning the 2023 Castel Challenge Cup Golden Boot with five goals and was named Discovery of the Season in that competition.

After scoring seven goals in all competitions for Bangwe All Stars, Saviel would head for his second loan spell at the start of the 2024 season, this time to Civil Service United.

Since this move to Malaw’s capital, the striker finally made a loud announcement of his arrival in Malawi’s top-flight football.

Eleven games into the ongoing season, the youngster got seven goals and two Player of the Match accolades, featuring in 883 minutes.

Well, it’s not only at the club level that his career is smoothly unfolding but at the international level as well. Already, he has represented Malawi U-17s and U-20s. For the junior Flames sides, he has scored nine goals.

Earlier this year, Saviel won the 2024 Four Nations Tournament U-20 Trophy, a competition in which he finished as the top goal scorer with three goals.

As he joins one of Zambia’s most successful clubs, Saviel leaves a lot of intriguing memories in the iconic Maule’s red and white stripes.

The club extends its best wishes to Saviel as he takes another step in his career.
