It’s another busy week for FCB Nyasa Big Bullets, with focus split between the First Team and the Under-19s. Peter Mponda’s men are set for a midweek TNM Super League clash away to Songwe Border United in Karonga, while Yamikani Fodya’s youngsters take on rivals Mighty Wanderers Youth in the mini-Blantyre derby.

Men’s First Team – TNM Super League

The People’s Team head to Karonga Stadium on Wednesday afternoon to face Songwe Border United in matchday 17. Kick-off is at 14:30 CAT.

Peter Mponda’s charges, who defeated Chitipa United 2-0 on Saturday, briefly went top of the standings before being re-overtaken by Mighty Wanderers, who edged Mafco FC 1-0 on Sunday. FCB Nyasa Big Bullets now sit second on the log with 37 points from 16 games, just one behind our city rivals.

Songwe Border United, meanwhile, are winless in all 16 matches this season, with 14 defeats and two draws. They have conceded 43 goals and scored just five, anchoring the table in 16th position.

Women’s Team – NBM Women’s Premiership

Maggie Chombo’s ladies will again not feature this week due to the suspension of the NBM Women’s Premiership. The pause comes as the Malawi National Women’s Team prepares for two international friendlies against Lesotho on 29 and 31 August, while Kukoma Ntopwa Women continue their participation in the CAF Women’s Champions League | COSAFA Qualifiers in South Africa.
