Vote for your men’s Player of the Month for September

Four players are in contention for September’s BCA Travel & Tours award following our emphatic first-round finale against Silver Strikers.

Voting is now open for September’s BCA Travel & Tours Player of the Month award, with four players shortlisted following our emphatic 5-0 victory over Silver Strikers.

Ephraim Kondowe, Innocent Nyasulu, Clever Kalambo and Wongani Lungu are in contention for the monthly honour, with supporters invited to decide who deserves the recognition.

September brought just one competitive fixture for The People’s Team, but it proved a memorable one as Wedson Nyirenda’s men swept aside Silver Strikers at Mpira Stadium to conclude the first round of the FDH Bank Premiership.

Kondowe’s hat-trick, alongside goals from Lungu and Misheck Billiat, sealed Bullets’ biggest league victory of the season, taking our first-round tally to 30 points from 15 matches.

The result also extended our run to four consecutive league clean sheets, rounding off an impressive finish to the opening half of the campaign.

Here is a closer look at the four contenders.

Ephraim Kondowe

Kondowe delivered a remarkable attacking performance against Silver Strikers, scoring his first hat-trick for Bullets and providing an assist.

The forward opened the scoring inside the first minute before doubling his tally in the 34th minute and completing his treble shortly after the hour mark.

He also turned provider for Billiat’s fifth goal, capping a four-goal contribution that earned him the Player of the Match award.

Innocent Nyasulu

Nyasulu played a key role in preserving our defensive record as Bullets registered another clean sheet.

The goalkeeper produced an important one-on-one save to deny Chinsinsi Maonga during the first half, preventing Silver from finding a way back into the contest.

His composure and reliability between the posts contributed to another shutout as we extended our run without conceding to four consecutive league matches.

Clever Kalambo

Kalambo was an influential presence in Bullets’ attacking play, providing creativity and movement as we dominated the contest.

The winger stretched the Silver defence with his direct running and combined effectively with his teammates in the final third.

His most telling contribution came in the 43rd minute when he set up Lungu, who finished calmly to give Bullets a commanding three-goal advantage before half-time.

Wongani Lungu

Lungu was central to Bullets’ attacking dominance, contributing a goal and two assists in an impressive midfield display.

He supplied the cross for Kondowe’s second goal before getting on the scoresheet himself, finishing from Kalambo’s pass to extend our lead to 3-0 before the break.

The midfielder continued to influence proceedings in the second half, delivering another cross for Kondowe to complete his hat-trick.
