FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is delighted to confirm that Yamikani Mologeni has signed a new three-year contract extension, keeping him at the club until 2029.
The 22-year-old right-back rose through the youth ranks before joining Bangwe All Stars on loan, where his performances impressed enough to earn him a call-up to the first team at the start of the 2024 season.
Mologeni has become one of the most promising defenders in Malawian football, featuring in 38 matches, scoring two goals and providing nine assists since his return to the club.
Commitment to Maule
Speaking to Bullets Media on Friday after putting pen to paper, Mologeni expressed his excitement at extending his stay with The People’s Team.
“I want to thank God for granting me this opportunity. Bullets is the biggest club in Malawi, and I don’t take it for granted that I have been given another three years to be part of this successful family,” he said.
He added: “I had no intentions to leave because this club has pushed me to where I am today. I’ve been here for a long time, and I was looking forward to this day.”

Focused on Growth
The overlapping fullback says his ambition is to raise his game to the next level.
“This contract will help me grow with maturity. I want to improve my movements, my service into the box, and overall consistency so that I can become one of the best players in Malawi.”
Mponda’s Praise
Head Coach Peter Mponda welcomed Mologeni’s extension, describing the young defender as a vital piece of his squad’s future.
“Yamikani has been a consistent performer since joining the first team. His energy, overlapping runs, and defensive discipline have been important for us. At just 22, he has plenty of room to grow, and we believe this new deal will give him the platform to become one of the best fullbacks in Malawi and beyond. We are delighted he has committed his future to Bullets.”
Building for Success
Mologeni also highlighted his bond with the technical panel and fellow teammates as a key factor in his decision to stay.
“I have a great relationship with my coaches and teammates, and I am very happy that our journey continues together. I want to keep working hard so that we achieve a lot as a team.”
Looking ahead, the defender says his focus is on winning trophies.
“Football has both good and bad moments, but if we win the league and other cups, we will have a great season. I want to contribute to the team’s success, just like in 2023 when we won the quadruple. I want people to remember me as part of that success story.”
Dreams Beyond Malawi
While fully committed to Bullets, Mologeni also has dreams of stepping onto bigger stages.
“I want to be a reliable player for the Malawi National Team and eventually play outside Malawi. It would be a dream come true if I get the opportunity to play in Europe or other parts of Africa.”
