FCB Nyasa Big Bullets enjoyed another eventful weekend across the club’s Women’s, Reserves, and U19 teams, while the First Team paused domestic action due to the ongoing FIFA Men’s International Break.
Here’s everything that happened around the Bullets family.
First Team: Quartet Feature as Flames Face Lesotho
The senior side had the weekend off as Malawi continued their international programme with a pair of friendly matches against Lesotho in Bloemfontein, South Africa.
The Flames were held to a 0-0 draw on Saturday at Toyota Stadium, with the second match scheduled for Tuesday at the same venue.
Four Bullets players are part of the national squad during this window. Babatunde Adepoju and Yankho Singo both started the match, Chikumbutso Salima came off the bench to replace captain Gabadinho Mhango in the second half, while Blessings Mpokera — returning to the national setup — was an unused substitute.
This window offers the quartet a valuable opportunity to gain international minutes and return sharper for the domestic campaign.
Women Sit Fifth After Goalless Draw in Matchweek 10
The Women’s Team remain in fifth place in the NBM Women’s Premiership after a tightly contested 0-0 draw against Kukoma Ntopwa Women on Saturday afternoon at Mpira Stadium.
The result keeps the team on 15 points from 10 matches, with a record of four wins, three draws, and three defeats so far this campaign.
Elsewhere around the league, Silver Strikers Ladies continue to lead the standings with 27 points from nine games and face MDF Lioness this afternoon in a fixture that could shape the title outlook. Ascent Soccer Academy remain second on 23 points following their 3-0 win over Topik Academy, while Mighty Wanderers Queens sit third with 17 points after their commanding 4-0 victory over Moyale Sisters.
MDF Lioness, currently fourth, are level with Maggie Chombo’s side on 15 points but ahead on goal difference and with a game in hand.
With a congested mid-table and plenty of fixtures ahead, the Maule Ladies remain well-positioned to climb higher as the season progresses.
Reserves Maintain Fourth Spot in the SRFL
The Reserves continue to show consistency in the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League, sitting fourth with 41 points from 23 matches following a recent 0-0 draw with Thondwe FC.
The young Maule have collected 11 wins, eight draws, and four defeats this season, maintaining their position in a tightly contested top-four battle.
Chilobwe United lead the table with 48 points after beating The Boys 2-0. Ekhaya Reserves sit second on 43 points, with their match against Zingwangwa United postponed, while Wanderers Reserves have moved into third — also on 43 points — after edging Immigration FC 1-0 and holding the position only on goal difference.
Thondwe FC remain fifth with 35 points from 23 matches.
With the title race tightening, Heston Munthali’s boys remain firmly in contention as they target a return to the top three in the coming matchweeks.
U19 Unbeaten in Second Round, Rise to Second Place
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Under-19 continued their impressive momentum in the Blantyre District Under-19 League, climbing to second place with 37 points from 18 matches.
The team has produced 12 wins, one draw, and five defeats, and remain unbeaten in the second round, winning all three fixtures so far — including a solid 2-0 victory over CC Stars in their most recent match.
Wanderers Youth lead the standings with 41 points after beating Ntopwa Youth 3-0. Soche Madrid, also on 37 points, stay close behind following their 4-1 win over Youngsters, while Ekhaya Youth continue to chase with 34 points after their dominant 6-1 victory over Ndirande Dortmund.
After a mixed first round, the young Maule have exploded into form, positioning themselves as strong contenders as the second round unfolds.
As the international break concludes and domestic fixtures resume, all Bullets sides remain in promising positions — with momentum building right across the club.
