FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ star midfielder Chikumbutso Salima shared his thoughts after another standout performance on Thursday afternoon, helping The People’s Team secure a 2-0 away victory over Kamuzu Barracks at Civo Stadium.
Salima opened the scoring in the 13th minute and later set up Babatunde Adepoju for the second goal in the 42nd minute. With this display, he earned a second consecutive Player of the Match award, his eighth in the TNM Super League this season.
On Back-to-Back Player of the Match Awards
“Winning back-to-back Player of the Match awards is huge motivation. It pushes me to keep raising my game every match,” Salima said.
On the Game
“Playing away is never easy, but we pushed hard for first-half goals and stayed focused. We knew we couldn’t take anything for granted, and it paid off!” he added, reflecting on Bullets’ disciplined approach.
On Competing with Babatunde for the Golden Boot
“Competing with Baba is exciting. It drives us both to work harder, and the team benefits from it. We’re happy to keep this momentum going,” Salima explained.
With his eighth Player of the Match award this season, Salima is in blistering form as Bullets prepare for their next challenge — a trip to face Creck Sporting Club in Mchinji for their final Central Region league match.
