Inside Bullets: What’s In Store This Week

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are gearing up for one of the busiest and most decisive weeks of the 2025 football calendar, with the First Team, Reserves, Women and Under-19 sides all entering crucial phases of their campaigns. As the season reaches its defining stage, every fixture, every point and every performance now carries extra weight for the Maule family.

Coaching Development: Maule Coaches Level Up

Bullets on Tuesday hosted a full-day coaching workshop in Blantyre, bringing together coaches from all four teams. The session was facilitated by Dubai-based British coaches Dan Quigley and David Ramjee of SK Football Academy, reinforcing the club’s long-term commitment to technical excellence and sustainable coaching development.

With renewed ideas, modern coaching approaches and enhanced alignment across departments, the workshop provided a timely boost as all teams step into a defining week.

First Team: Northern Region Double-Header as Mponda’s Men Look to Bounce Back

Peter Mponda’s men will make their final trip to the Northern Region for two demanding TNM Super League fixtures that could shape the title race.

The team will be looking to respond after Sunday’s 2-0 defeat to Creck Sporting Club in Mchinji—our fifth loss of the campaign—just days after the 2-0 victory over Kamuzu Barracks in Lilongwe.

Bullets remain top of the standings after Mighty Wanderers suffered their first defeat of the season, losing 2-1 away to Mzuzu City Hammers on Wednesday afternoon. With both sides now level on 56 points from 25 matches, The People’s Team stay ahead on goal difference, having scored 52 goals and conceded 18, compared to Wanderers’ 39 scored and 12 conceded.

The assignment begins on Saturday against Karonga United at Chitipa Stadium, before heading to Mzuzu Stadium on Wednesday for a clash with Moyale Barracks, a team with a reputation for being difficult to beat at home. These two fixtures will be our final away matches of the season, with the last three games set for Blantyre—making positive results in the North potentially decisive in the championship race.

Women’s Team: Chombo’s Ladies Return After International Duty

Following the international break—during which three Bullets Women players represented the Malawi Women’s National Team—Maggie Chombo’s ladies return to domestic action this weekend.

They host MDF Lioness on Saturday at Mpira Stadium, aiming to build on their encouraging form. Sitting third with 18 points from 11 matches, the team will look to strengthen their push toward the summit as the league enters its critical phase.

Their returning internationals bring added confidence, experience and momentum into the squad.

Under-19: Fodya’s Boys Eye Second Place in Key Clash

After last weekend’s narrow 2-1 defeat to Griffin Stars, Yamikani Fodya’s boys are determined to bounce back strongly when they face Soche Madrid in a direct battle for second place.

Both teams sit level on 40 points, with Bullets U19 holding the advantage on goal difference. A win would reignite their late-season push and restore momentum as the finish line approaches.

The youthful Maule continue to shine as one of the most exciting development sides in the region.

Reserves: Fixture-Free Week Before Key Tigers Test

Following their confident 3-0 win over Zingwangwa United, Heston Munthali’s side will not be in action this week, as confirmed by the ThumbsUp Southern Region Football League.

Bullets Reserves return to the field next Thursday, 11 December, when they travel to Mpira Stadiumfor a crucial meeting with Mighty Tigers Reserves. With four matches left and the team sitting third—level on points with Ekhaya but ahead on goal difference—the upcoming fixture represents another important step in their push for a strong finish.

A High-Stakes Week for the Bullets Family

From Mponda’s men chasing league glory, to Chombo’s ladies returning from international duty, Fodya’s boys fighting for second place, and Munthali’s side preparing for a crucial run-in—this week promises intensity, opportunity and defining moments across all FCB Nyasa Big Bullets teams.

The Maule family will be hoping for strong performances, positive results and another step forward in what has been a competitive, demanding and promising 2025 season.
