FCB Nyasa Big Bullets defender Blessings Mpokera has withdrawn from the Malawi national team squad due to a minor knee injury.
Mpokera had been included in the provisional squad preparing for the upcoming Four Nations tournament in Botswana.
“Since we started camping, it is only Blessings Mpokera who is not okay, so we have sent him back for recovery,” Pasuwa told the Football Association of Malawi website.
Malawi are set to face Zambia, Botswana and Zimbabwe in the competition.
The centre-back has recently become part of the national team setup under Flames head coach Kalisto Pasuwa following a series of impressive performances.
He featured in the November 2025 international friendlies against Lesotho, where Malawi drew 0-0 before securing a 1-0 victory over the Likuena.
Mpokera has since returned to the club and will now focus on recovery under the supervision of the Bullets medical team.
The injury is understood to be minor and the defender will undergo further assessment as he begins his rehabilitation.
Bullets will regroup next week to begin full preparations for the upcoming 2026/27 season.
