Two Premiership matches into his FCB Nyasa Big Bullets career, Clever Kalambo is already making his presence felt—and he believes his best is still to come.
The 18-year-old forward was once again at the heart of our attacking play as we secured a 1-0 victory over MAFCO FC in the FDH Bank Premiership at Joyce Chitsulo Stadium, continuing his bright start to life at the club with an energetic and influential display.
He capped off his performance by being named Player of the Match, underlining his growing influence in the team.
Despite being denied by fine margins—including a disallowed first-half goal and a strike off the crossbar—Kalambo remained a constant threat, driving our forward line with pace, movement and confidence. Time and again, he found pockets of space, stretching the MAFCO backline and offering a reliable outlet in attack.

“I’m happy with how I played, but this is just the beginning. I will keep working hard to help the team achieve its goals.”
He has already made his mark in front of goal, opening his Bullets account with a seventh-minute strike in our opener against Civil Service United—the first goal of the 2026/27 league campaign.
On Sunday afternoon, Kalambo set the tempo as we controlled large spells of the contest, testing the goalkeeper from distance and linking play effectively in the final third.
He thought he had marked his performance with a goal midway through the first half when he powered home a header, only for the effort to be ruled out for offside. Minutes later, he came close again, striking the crossbar as we continued to press.
While the decisive moment came via an own goal early in the second half, Kalambo’s contribution remained key in maintaining attacking pressure and helping the team see out the result.
With changes in the attacking line this season, attention has naturally turned to who steps up—and early signs point to Kalambo.
Some supporters have already tipped the youngster as a potential long-term replacement for Chikumbutso Salima, who departed in January to join Sudanese side Al Merrikh after an outstanding run with the club.
Salima enjoyed a stellar 2025 campaign, finishing as joint top scorer in the TNM Super League with 15 goals and earning Player of the Season honours, a recognition he also carried into the 2025 FAM Awards.
Kalambo, however, is focused on carving his own path while contributing to the team’s progress.
“I came here to contribute. It’s not easy to replace a player like Salima, but I didn’t want the team to be exposed. With time, I believe I will get there,” said the teenager, who joined the club this season.
Now two matches into his Bullets career, Kalambo is already settling into the demands of the team, showing maturity and a willingness to take responsibility.
“We have started well. Four points from six is not a bad start. We are working hard to improve, and I’m confident everything will fall into place.”
Kalambo was forced off late on after picking up a knock but remains confident of being available for the next fixture.
“I just felt a knock, but I’m fine. I will be ready for the next game.”
As Maule build momentum early in the campaign, Kalambo’s performances offer more than just promise—they signal the emergence of a player ready to grow into the moment.
