FCB Nyasa Big Bullets have sent Cedric Maxwell, Hadji Steven and Prince Chalera on season-long loans to Bangwe All Stars.
The trio joins the Blantyre-based National Division League side from our Reserves team for the remainder of the 2026/27 campaign as the club continues to create pathways for young players to gain valuable senior football exposure.
Maxwell, Steven and Chalera will now have an opportunity to compete regularly in Malawi’s second-tier league after featuring for our Reserves side in the Southern Region Football League.
The move is expected to provide the youngsters with important competitive minutes in a more demanding senior football environment while remaining part of Maule’s long-term plans.
Bangwe have increasingly become an important platform for Bullets youngsters in recent years, with several players using the club as a stepping stone in their football journey.
Richard Chimbamba, Chikumbutso Salima, Emmanuel Saviel, Chimwemwe Yassin and Rahaman John all previously enjoyed loan spells with Bangwe before moving on, while current first-team regular Yamikani Mologeni also benefited from his time at the club earlier in his career.
The latest moves continue Bullets’ wider player development pathway, taking the number of players currently out on loan to five following the earlier departures of Reserves captain Oscar Petro to Civil Service United and goalkeeper Austin Chirambo to Luanar Mitundu FC.
Both Petro and Chirambo have already been enjoying valuable game time in the FDH Bank Premiership during the early stages of the 2026/27 season.
Chirambo earned promotion to the first team last season, but opportunities were limited with experienced goalkeepers Innocent Nyasulu and Richard Chimbamba ahead of him in the pecking order.
Maxwell and Chalera both started for Bangwe in Saturday’s opening NBS Bank National Division League fixture against Mzuzu City Hammers, while Steven made his debut appearance as a second-half substitute in the 2-1 defeat.
Meanwhile, defender Mussah Bwanali has left the club on mutual consent. Bwanali served as vice-captain of our Reserves side during his time within The People’s Team setup.
The latest loan arrangements further strengthen the relationship between Bullets and Bangwe as both clubs continue to play an important role in creating competitive opportunities for emerging talent.
Everyone at Bullets wishes Maxwell, Steven and Chalera success during their time at Bangwe, while also thanking Bwanali for his contribution to the club and wishing him all the best in the next chapter of his career.
