FCB Nyasa Big Bullets assistant coach Heston Munthali says Bullets will continue working to improve their finishing after another frustrating afternoon in front of goal saw The People’s Team held to a goalless FDH Bank Premiership draw by Ekhaya at Mpira Stadium on Sunday.
Speaking on behalf of head coach Wedson Nyirenda, Munthali admitted Bullets were left frustrated after creating numerous goalscoring opportunities but failing to find the breakthrough despite dominating large spells of the match.
“It’s very frustrating to see how we are missing chance after chance. We are creating more opportunities. It’s football, but we need to go back to the drawing board to rectify this problem. It’s more frustrating.”
Despite the frustration, Munthali took encouragement from Bullets’ overall performance, believing his side grew into the game after a slow start and controlled much of the match.
“It was a very good game, and it was a game of chances, but we couldn’t convert them into goals. As I said, it’s very frustrating.
“We didn’t start the match very well, but when we settled down, we dominated. We made some changes, and we thought we would score, but we kept on missing chances.
“Overall, we had a good game, and we are looking forward to the next assignment.”
The draw extended Bullets’ unbeaten FDH Bank Premiership run under Nyirenda but left The People’s Team third on the table with 20 points from 10 matches, one point behind joint leaders Mighty Wanderers and Silver Strikers.
Bullets now turn their attention to Saturday’s away fixture against Goshen City Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium, where The People’s Team will look to return to winning ways.
