FCB Nyasa Big Bullets recorded victories across three domestic fronts in the latest round of action, collecting maximum points in the FDH Bank Premiership, SRFA FINCA Region Division One League and FCB Katswiri Under-19 League.
On the international stage, Bernadetta Mkandawire, Lyna James and Maggie Chombo were part of the Malawi side that finished runners-up at the TotalEnergies CAF Women’s Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2026.
Oscar Petro and Prince Chalera also added more competitive minutes during their respective loan spells.

First Team
Bullets made it back-to-back victories in the FDH Bank Premiership with a 1-0 win over Karonga United at Karonga Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Ephraim Kondowe made the breakthrough in the 38th minute, meeting Yamikani Mologeni’s delivery to give Wedson Nyirenda’s side the lead before the interval.
Nyirenda’s men continued to threaten after the restart. Kondwani Tebulo struck the post before Karonga goalkeeper Owen Jamu denied Kondowe a second goal late in the contest.
Bullets remained composed at the other end to return from our first Northern Region trip of the season with maximum points and a second consecutive clean sheet.
The victory moved The People’s Team to 26 points from 13 matches, two behind leaders Silver Strikers.

Reserves
Bullets Reserves extended their winning run with a 2-1 victory over Ekhaya Reserves at Mpira Stadium on Sunday afternoon.
Verson Mudu opened the scoring before Limbitso Chimanjamanja added the second as Henry Kabichi’s side secured another valuable three points.
The result marked a sixth consecutive league victory for the young Bullets, whose impressive run has carried them firmly into contention at the top of the SRFA FINCA Region Division One standings.
Bullets Reserves remain second with 25 points, reducing the gap at the summit to two.

Under-19
Bullets Under-19 returned from a one-week break with a 2-1 victory over CC Stars at Kamuzu Stadium on Monday morning.
Ahmad Ayami opened the scoring in the first half before CC Stars restored parity.
Yamikani Fodya’s side found the decisive response through Osman George, who converted from the penalty spot to secure maximum points and preserve the young Bullets’ unbeaten start to the campaign.
The victory moved the Under-19s to 16 points from six matches following five wins and one draw.

International Watch
Bullets Women trio Mkandawire, James and Chombo concluded a historic WAFCON campaign as Malawi finished runners-up following Sunday night’s final against Cameroon.
The Scorchers’ journey ended with a 3-0 defeat at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat, but reaching the continental showpiece crowned an outstanding tournament for Malawian football.
Mkandawire started and completed the final, while James was an unused substitute. Bullets Women head coach Chombo was on the touchline in her role as Malawi assistant coach.
Malawi reached the final after overcoming Ghana in the quarter-finals and Algeria in the last four.
The campaign also secured qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027, making the Scorchers the first senior Malawi national team—men’s or women’s—to reach the global tournament.

On Loan Watch
Oscar Petro completed another 90 minutes as Civil Service United defeated Blue Eagles 2-1 in the FDH Bank Premiership.
The midfielder played the full contest at Nankhaka Stadium, helping the Servants secure an important victory.
Prince Chalera was introduced from the bench for Bangwe All Stars in their NBS Bank National Division League meeting with Ntaja United.
Bangwe were beaten 2-1, with the appearance adding further competitive minutes to Chalera’s loan spell.

Attention now turns to Sunday’s FDH Bank Premiership meeting with Luanar Mitundu in Dedza as Nyirenda’s side looks to extend our winning run and maintain the pressure at the top of the standings.
