Kondowe claims September Player of the Month award

Ephraim Kondowe’s hat-trick against Silver Strikers has earned him another distinction, with supporters voting the forward as FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ BCA Travel & Tours Player of the Month for September.

Kondowe secured 60.3% of the vote, comfortably ahead of goalkeeper Innocent Nyasulu, who finished second with 23.9%. Clever Kalambo received 8.1%, while Wongani Lungu completed the four-man shortlist with 7.8%.

The supporters’ recognition follows his decisive contribution to our 5-0 victory over Silver Strikers at Mpira Stadium, the only competitive fixture Bullets played in September.

The encounter brought the first round of the FDH Bank Premiership to a close before the league’s midseason pause, which coincided with the international break.

Kondowe scored his first hat-trick for The People’s Team and provided an assist, playing a direct role in four of our five goals as Wedson Nyirenda’s men concluded the opening half of the campaign in emphatic fashion.

The forward opened the scoring inside the first minute and doubled our advantage in the 34th minute before completing his treble shortly after the hour mark.

He then turned provider for Misheck Billiat, who rounded off the scoring in the 70th minute to seal our biggest league victory of the season.

The result took our first-round tally to 30 points from 15 matches and marked a fourth consecutive league clean sheet at the time.

The award adds to Kondowe’s Player of the Match recognition from the Silver Strikers encounter and makes him the second recipient of the BCA Travel & Tours monthly honour this season, succeeding August winner Emmanuel Kaunga.

Congratulations to Ephraim, and thank you to everyone who voted!
