FCB Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder Paul Master has expressed delight after claiming his first Player of the Match award since joining the club two months ago.
The 29-year-old was named the standout performer in Bullets’ 1-0 victory over Mafco FC at Champions Stadium on Sunday, his fourth TNM Super League appearance for The People’s Team.
Speaking to club media after the final whistle, Master, a former Blue Eagles player, dedicated the recognition to God and praised the collective effort of the team.
“First of all, I thank God for this achievement. It means a lot to me and gives me extra motivation moving forward,” he said.
Master was influential throughout the game, controlling the midfield with composure, determination, and precision as Bullets clinched all three points courtesy of a 77th-minute header from Chikumbutso Salima.
He credited his teammates for constantly pushing each other as the club continues its title pursuit in the TNM Super League.
“This wasn’t just about me. As players, we keep pushing each other on and off the pitch. Everyone is playing their part as we fight to get where we want to be.”
With the win over Mafco following Thursday’s 2-0 triumph against Mzuzu City Hammers, Bullets now trail league leaders Mighty Wanderers by a single point.
Master believes the momentum from the back-to-back away wins will be crucial heading into the final fixture of the first round at home against Karonga United this weekend.
“These results give us confidence. The most important thing is to stay focused. We have to keep building on this, take it game by game, and continue improving.”
