Salima: I’m motivated to keep performing

Chikumbutso Salima was named Player of the Match after an electrifying performance that propelled FCB Nyasa Big Bullets to an emphatic 4-1 win against Creck Sporting Club in Wednesday’s TNM Super League encounter.

The lively winger was in exceptional form, dictating play along the left wing and playing a crucial part in three of Bullets’ four goals. His efforts were instrumental in securing the team’s second win of the season, lifting us to the top of the table with six points from two matches.

Salima provided two sublime assists. His first was a brilliantly weighted through ball that split the Creck defence and set up Wongani Lungu, who calmly finished the chance. The second assist saw our reserves graduate whip in a curling cross from the left, finding Yamikani Mologeni in the far post to slot past the stranded goalkeeper, Brighton Munthali.

He capped off his outstanding display by scoring himself. Receiving a pinpoint pass from Lungu inside the box, the winger fired a low, driven shot into the bottom left corner, sending the home fans into raptures.

His remarkable influence was recognised at full-time, as Salima was awarded the Player of the Match accolade.

Reflecting on the honor, Salima said, “This was a fantastic match for us, particularly after we drew with them in the Airtel Top 8. We followed the coach’s game plan and it made the difference. Contributing two assists and a goal in such an important game is a huge confidence booster. I’m motivated to keep performing at this level and help the team claim more victories. Being named Player of the Match encourages me to work even harder. This is just the start; I’m committed to giving my all for Bullets.”

Salima’s standout display not only helped Peter Mponda’s side climb to the summit of the league table, but also established him as a key player to watch throughout the remainder of the season.
