As FCB Nyasa Big Bullets approach the conclusion of the first round of the 2025 TNM Super League, four standout performers have been shortlisted for the HTD Player of the Month award for July.
Blessings Mpokera, Chikumbutso Salima, Ephraim Kondowe, and Innocent Nyasulu have all been recognised for their consistent contributions and impact across five competitive fixtures in the month.
Here’s how each of the nominees fared:
Blessings Mpokera
A dependable presence across the backline, Mpokera featured in all five games Bullets played in July.
He played a key role in our back-to-back league wins over Mzuzu City Hammers and Mafco, and captained the side in the latter following the early withdrawal of Frank Willard.
In the Airtel Top 8 Final, he converted one of the penalties in the shootout against Silver Strikers and made crucial defensive contributions during regulation time.
Mpokera was also involved in our two league defeats away to Civil Service United and at home to Blue Eagles.
Chikumbutso Salima
The wing attacker featured in four of our five matches in July, showcasing consistency and flair on the left side of attack.
He scored the opener and later set up Hassan Kajoke for the second goal in our 2-0 win over Mzuzu City Hammers in Rumphi. He followed that up with a match-winning header against Mafco in Mponela, helping The People’s Team close the gap at the top of the table.
Salima also featured in the Airtel Top 8 Final, winning the early penalty that could have given Bullets the lead, only for the goalkeeper to deny Babatunde from the spot.
He also played in the league home loss to Blue Eagles.
Ephraim Kondowe
The forward was involved in all five matches last month and played a vital part in key moments.
He scored in the 2-1 away defeat to Civil Service United and held his nerve to net the winning penalty in the Airtel Top 8 Final against Silver Strikers.
Kondowe also provided the assist for Salima’s goal in the 2-0 win over Mzuzu City Hammers and continued to lead the line in the victory over Mafco.
Innocent Nyasulu
The goalkeeper delivered a series of excellent performances throughout July, keeping two clean sheets in four matches.
Nyasulu saved a crucial penalty during the shootout against Silver Strikers to help Bullets retain the Airtel Top 8 title.
He was also in goal in the 1-0 loss to Blue Eagles, where his saves kept Bullets within reach.
Against Mzuzu City Hammers, Nyasulu made a series of first-half saves and pulled off a brilliant double save to deny the hosts from the spot in the second half.
He followed that with another clean sheet in Mponela, helping Bullets to a 1-0 win over Mafco to close the gap at the top to just one point.
