Reigning champions FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will face Karonga United in the semifinals of the Airtel Top 8.
The fixture was confirmed on Sunday afternoon after Karonga dumped Mighty Wanderers out of the competition with a 2-1 victory on aggregate.
Ingwina of Karonga went into the second leg tie with a one-goal disadvantage as they suffered a 1-0 defeat against the Nomads in the first leg in Blantyre a week ago.
Alfred Chizinga brought the tie at 1-1 in the 55th minute at Karonga Stadium, before he doubled the tally to 2-0 on the afternoon in the 79th minute to secure his side a semi-final tie against Bullets.
Peter Mponda’s men progressed to the next round of the competition following a 1-0 victory on aggregate over Creck Sporting Club in Lilongwe on Saturday.
This will be a third meeting between The People’s Team and Karonga in this competition, having met in the two-legged quarterfinal matches in the 2022 season when we won the first leg 7-0 before playing out to a 1-all draw away to Karonga in the return leg.
Dates for the semifinals will be announced by the Football Association of Malawi.
