With his super scenic strike against Silver Strikers in the 2022 Airtel Top 8 semi-final match at the Kamuzu Stadium, Gomezgani Chirwa has won the Precious Medical International Goal of the Month Award for December.
It means that the pacey right back, who is also being tipped for the 2022 TNM Super League Player of the Season Award, has won the PMI Goal of the Month award in back-to-back months.
Chirwa was the recipient of the award in November following his sumptuous strike against Moyale Barracks on 12 November at Kamuzu Stadium.
Liking the glow in the spotlight, Chirwa produced another picturesque strike to retain the award in December.
Detecting Emmas Nyirenda out of his line, the 2022 Bullets Player of the Season darted the ball from far-right, watched it fly over the net-minder, and found the back of the net to the amusement of the fans watching.
Surely, the 2022 season will remain indelible in the mind of the right back, who has won every individual accolade at The People’s Team in it.
Contesting for the December Goal of the Month award against Gome were Ernest Petro and Patrick Mwaungulu’s strikes, which came from the same match against Silver Strikers on 10 December. Nonetheless, Chirwa’s goal proved to be the people’s choice for the award.
