Nyasa Big Bullets will be without several players for the trip to Lilongwe where we will take on Silver Strikers in the TNM Super League on Saturday.
Goalkeepers Ernest Kakhobwe and Rabson Chiyenda are still not fit to be considered for selection as they recuperate from injuries.
Kakhobwe has been training with the rest of the team members, but is yet to be certified fit to play, while Chiyenda returned to the training ground this week after being cleared by the medical to start light recovery sessions.
There has also been an update from the medical department on youngster Lanjesi Nkhoma as well as Pilirani Zonda and Precious Phiri.
An update made on Thursday before the team leaves for Lilongwe on Friday, states that Nkhoma should be able to start doing some walk and short jogging exercises to asses if there will be a reaction to his ankle following an injury he picked in training last month.
Both Zonda and Phiri, who have missed most part of the first-round due to injuries suffered earlier this year, have started light training and there is a possibility that the duo will be able to join full time training next week.
Meanwhile, Bullets have suffered a fresh injury blow following Dalitso Sailesi’s injury he suffered on Tuesday during training.
An update from team doctor Felix Mwalule reveals that Sailesi has a foot infection caused by a finger fracture and is expected to be out of action for three weeks.
He joins Aziz Mwakifuna and Righteous Banda, who are also undergoing rehabilitation after being ruled out for the rest of the season.
