Gwamba joins Bullets as official Brand Ambassador

Award-winning musician formalises long-standing relationship with The People’s Team

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets are delighted to announce the appointment of celebrated Malawian musician, entrepreneur and long-time supporter Gwamba as the club’s official Brand Ambassador.

The partnership formalises a relationship that has grown over many years between one of Malawi’s most recognisable public figures and The People’s Team.

As Brand Ambassador, Gwamba will work closely with the club to strengthen supporter engagement, promote community initiatives and expand the reach of the Bullets brand.

Widely regarded as one of the country’s most influential entertainers, the musician born Duncan Zgambo has built a reputation that extends beyond music through entrepreneurship, philanthropy and community engagement while maintaining a close affinity with Bullets and its supporters.

His appointment as Brand Ambassador reflects a shared commitment to excellence, community impact and the continued growth of two powerful brands.

Gwamba signs the agreement formalising his appointment as FCB Nyasa Big Bullets Brand Ambassador.

Speaking after signing the agreement, Gwamba described the appointment as both a personal and professional milestone.

“I am very happy and excited to become the official Brand Ambassador of FCB Nyasa Big Bullets. If you know Gwamba, then you know I have been a Bullets supporter since childhood, so this appointment is very special to me. It is unique and it makes my work much easier because my passion for this club is genuine and comes naturally.”

For Gwamba, the role presents an opportunity to build even stronger connections with the people who form the heartbeat of the club.

“Through my work, I want to connect with the supporters, the players and the entire Bullets family. I want to engage more with our fans and share this journey together. We will be meeting at the stadiums and enjoying the experience together.”

The artist also highlighted the potential of bringing together two established brands with a shared ambition to make a lasting impact.

“FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is a huge brand and simply being associated with it is a big deal. Over the next year, I would like to see how the Gwamba brand and the Bullets brand can work together and what we can achieve as one team. I am confident that we will accomplish great things together.”

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets CEO Albert Chigoga and Gwamba seal the partnership following the signing ceremony in Blantyre.

Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga said the club’s decision to appoint Gwamba was informed not only by his influence and reach, but also by his longstanding passion for Bullets.

“Gwamba is one of the biggest brand names in Malawi’s music industry. As a club, we conducted our research and ultimately settled on him, not only because he is a music icon, but also because he is a genuine Bullets supporter.”

“He follows this team passionately, and we know how much he loves the club. We believe that someone with that level of passion and commitment will work closely with us to help achieve our objectives.”

Chigoga said the partnership has the potential to create value for both organisations while introducing new audiences to each brand.

“This partnership is about mutual growth. FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is a growing brand and growth is an ongoing process. We believe this collaboration with Gwamba as Brand Ambassador will create benefits for both parties.”

“As Gwamba continues to grow his brand and business, we expect Bullets to grow as well. We believe many of our supporters will take a greater interest in Gwamba’s work, while people who have followed Gwamba over the years, but may not necessarily be football supporters, will develop an interest in the club through this partnership.”

Albert Chigoga presents Gwamba with a personalised Bullets jersey during the ambassador unveiling ceremony.

As Brand Ambassador, Gwamba will support FCB Nyasa Big Bullets through promotional campaigns, supporter engagement initiatives, community outreach programmes and other strategic projects aimed at strengthening the club’s presence on and off the pitch.

The appointment represents another important step in the club’s ongoing efforts to build meaningful partnerships, broaden its appeal and strengthen connections with supporters and communities across Malawi and beyond.

“I am proud to join The People’s Team as its official Brand Ambassador,” said Gwamba.
