Mfune is October’s Player of the Month

Antony Mfune has been named as the Hubertus Clausius Player of the Month for October 2022.

The Nyasa Big Bullets forward has earned the accolade after scoring two goals and notching up a single assist in the five games The People’s Team played last month.

The 23-year-old was nominated by the Bullets technical panel alongside Gomezgani Chirwa and Frank Willard but got most of the votes from the fans to emerge the winner of the award sponsored by Hubertus Clausius Malawi.

Mfune salvaged a point for the champions when he scored in the 1-1 draw against Civil Service United in the TNM Super League at the Kamuzu Stadium.

He was on target as well when he opened the scoring in our 2-2 draw against Silver Strikers in the Super League away at the Bingu National Stadium.

In the final of the FDH Bank Cup on 23rd October, Mfune was at it again when he hammered the final nail in Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves’ coffin for the historic final to finish 3-1 in favour of Pasuwa’s side.

He also set up Babatunde Adepoju for our fifth goal in our 1-5 league victory over Sable Farming at the Kamuzu Stadium.

The diminutive forward got most of the votes, 54%, on top of Chirwa, who got 45% and Willard got 1% of the total fans’ votes.

Mfune, who has six league goals for Pasuwa’s side so far, will be handed the award at halftime during our final 2022 TNM Super League game of the season against Dedza Dynamos at the Kamuzu Stadium on Saturday.
