Swift Holdings has honoured its K15 million reward pledge to FCB Nyasa Big Bullets following the club’s triumphant victory in the 2025 Airtel Top 8 Cup.
The presentation ceremony was held on Friday afternoon at the Bullets Club Offices in Blantyre, where officials from Swift Holdings handed over the cash reward to the club’s leadership in recognition of the team’s hard‑fought success in this year’s edition of the elite cup competition.
The event brought together executives from both institutions, including members of the Bullets technical panel and first‑team squad, who were joined by the media and invited guests.
Speaking during the presentation, Angelo Montersino, Head of Operations at the micro-finance and insurance brokers company, delivered a heartfelt message:
“Sunday was a special day for Big Bullets and Malawian football. Watching you lift the Airtel Top 8 trophy made Maule proud. At Swift Holdings, we believe in supporting excellence. Bullets has shown time and again what can be achieved through determination, teamwork, and never giving up. These are the same qualities we see in the entrepreneurs and individuals we work with across Malawi.
As Finance for the People as our motto, we’re proud to stand with The People’s Team. This K15 million is our way of recognising your success and the pride you bring to your supporters and the nation. Congratulations to the players, coaches, management, and the incredible fans — your success is our success.”
Receiving the reward on behalf of the club, Chief Executive Officer Albert Chigoga said:
“This is a proud day for the club. What Swift Holdings has done speaks directly to our vision — to keep winning and to keep our players motivated. Football success doesn’t happen in a vacuum. It takes support, belief, and rewarding effort. When our players and technical staff are happy, the results show on the pitch. This gesture from Swift inspires everyone involved — it’s a beautiful affirmation that we’re on the right path.”
Head Coach Peter Mponda added:
“We’re truly honoured and thankful to Swift Holdings. This is more than just a financial contribution — it’s a show of belief in our journey. Being recognised in this way fuels our ambition. K15 million is no small gesture — the boys will feel this deeply. It lifts the entire squad’s spirit and motivates us to keep pushing boundaries and achieving more.”
Vice Captain Frank Willard, speaking for the players, remarked:
“We’re incredibly excited and grateful for this amazing gesture. It’s always encouraging when our efforts are recognised off the pitch. This reward gives us even more drive to fight for the badge, make our supporters proud, and keep delivering strong performances for the team. Big thanks to Swift Holdings — this means a lot to us”.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets were crowned Airtel Top 8 champions on 20 July after a thrilling shootout victory over Silver Strikers at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
