Salima reacts after memorable Dedza victory

Chikumbutso Salima shared his thoughts after netting the decisive goal in FCB Nyasa Big Bullets’ historic 1-0 triumph over Premier Bet Dedza Dynamos at Dedza Stadium in Wednesday’s TNM Super League clash.

With just a minute remaining in regulation time, Salima found the net, clinching all three points and securing The People’s Team’s very first league win on Dedza soil.

The 23-year-old winger, who has maintained excellent form this season, also claimed his second Player of the Match accolade in just four league fixtures for the 2025 campaign.

In an interview with the club’s media team, Salima emphasized how crucial it was to break the club’s winless streak in Dedza, underlining the significance of the victory for the squad.

“I walked onto the field fired up, fully aware that our previous results here in Dedza had let us down. This was our moment to put things right, and we did exactly that,” Salima remarked.

“Receiving these awards is incredibly motivating for me, because my top priority is always to help the team achieve its goals.”

Reflecting on how the squad has responded following last season—when Bullets secured just one silverware out the four trophies we won in 2023—Salima explained that the team’s progress comes from honest self-assessment and continuous improvement.

“Nothing radical has changed; we’re just putting in consistent hard work because every player is eager to achieve success.”

After our away win at Dedza on Wednesday, Bullets solidified the lead at the top of the table with 12 points, having won all four matches. Peter Mponda’s men have netted 13 goals, conceded just once, and recorded three clean sheets.
