Bullets provide latest injury update

Share

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets has provided the latest injury update ahead of our Northern Region trip to face Moyale Barracks in the TNM Super League on Monday.

Head coach Kalisto Pasuwa released information about the status of the players who have been on the sidelines with injuries.

Providing early team news before travelling to Mzuzu, Pasuwa also revealed that two more players have joined the injury list and will not be part of the squad for the Moyale fixture.

Below is the full list of injured players and their expected return dates.

Maxwell Phodo

The striker picked up an injury in our first game of the TNM Super League campaign away to Dedza Dynamos on 6 April and has since been sidelined with an ankle sprain. Phodo has resumed light training and is expected to return to full training next week.

Frank Willard

Willard damaged his anterior cruciate ligament during our game against the now-relegated Blue Eagles last season. Such a significant injury required the player to go for arthroscopic treatment in Zimbabwe and has been undergoing rehabilitation ahead of his return to the training pitch. The holding midfielder is expected to start light training in a fortnight.

Alick Lungu

The left-back had a knee fracture last season and was among the players the club sent for arthroscopic treatment in Zimbabwe. He is currently undergoing recuperation ahead of his full recovery. His expected dates remain unknown.

Clever Mkungula

The goalkeeper had a meniscus tear and also underwent a successful surgery in Zimbabwe. He is currently undergoing rehab ahead of his return to normal training in the next few weeks.

Mike Mkwate

Our attacking midfielder suffered a tibiofibular fracture to his right leg in the Castel Challenge Cup launch match against Silver Strikers in July last year. He went for an operation and he is currently recuperating. However, he still has months of recovery before returning to the field of play.

Chikumbutso Salima

The enterprising winger suffered a medial collateral ligament during our goalless TNM Super League draw against Mighty Tigers last month. He has been undergoing rehab ahead of his full return to action. He is expected to resume normal training in the next two weeks. He is likely to be available for Bullets after the international break.

Ephraim Kondowe

The forward suffered a pinky toe injury during our 1-all draw against Mighty Mukuru Wanderers and he is expected to start his physio sessions next week. He is also likely to start light training after the international break.

Stanley Billiat

The winger is now back in full training. He has been out of action for the last three months.

Colin Mujuru

The Hubertus Clausius Player of the Month for April is the latest casualty and has been ruled out of action for the next two weeks with a grade-one thigh tear. Mujuru, who was withdrawn in the first half of our league tie against Mzuzu City Hammers last weekend, is likely to be available for us after the international break.

Crispin Mapemba

The Bullets Reserves graduate has an ankle sprain and will be out of action for the next two weeks. He will be assessed and if all goes well, he will be available after the international break.
