Ahead of the 2022 Powerstart Tayale Cup final against Zingwangwa United on Sunday at the Mulanje Park Stadium, Nyasa Big Bullets Reserves coach Enos Chatama has expressed optimism about his side reclaiming the trophy.
Bullets Reserves are the holders of the cup which was introduced last season and Chatama believes the young Bullets will grab the silverware for the second successive year.
Zingwangwa United have a bit of history on their side after their U-23 FAM Cup triumph earlier this year. For that factor, Chatama said his side will not look down upon the Division One outfit come on Sunday.
“I think they [Zingwangwa United] have also that experience of playing in the final. It’s one of those cup finals which will be a tough test for both teams,” he told the club media ahead of the final.
Bullets Reserves will go into the final coming from a disappointing league defeat away at Changalume Barracks last weekend, but Chatama has assured that the boys are well-prepared for the new challenge ahead.
“The morale is sky-high. All the boys are ready. We played last week, we lost to Changalume. That was another game and this is a cup final which we have to win for us to retain the trophy.”
The Powerstart Tayale Cup was launched last year to unearth new talent, with the Top 8 teams of the Southern Region Football Association (SRFA) Premier Division as participants, but the format changed this season, incorporating Top 8 teams from the Division One, the country’s third tier.
