Chawanangwa Gumbo has been drafted into Malawi’s squad called-up for the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship qualifiers against Comoros.
The FCB Nyasa Big Bullets midfielder is returning to the senior Flames for the first time since 2022.
Malawi will play The Coelacanths in an away assignment at the Bingu National Stadium on Sunday 2 March, before hosting them at the same venue in the second leg six days later.
The winner between the Flames and Comoros will face the winner between South Africa and Egypt in the last round of the qualifiers with the winner of that tie booking a place at the final tournament to be held in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda in August.
