Chrispin Mapemba has been voted the Hubertus Clausius Player of the Month for October.
The youngster had a standout month in October, delivering flawless performances as he played in every single match for The People’s Team.
Known for his explosiveness in the final third during his two years with our reserves side, the fresh graduate is thriving in rearguard duties in his first season with Kalisto Pasuwa’s first team. Last month, the 20-year-old was simply so good in his makeshift role.
His defying performance came in our 2-1 victory over cross-town rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers. This exceptional display in the 77th Blantyre derby ultimately earned him the Player of the Match award.
This is the first time the young Mapemba has won the prestigious award since graduating from the reserves. Interestingly, the accolade comes on his very first nomination.
Mapemba claims this award after earning 55% of the votes, compared to Wongani Lungu’s 23%, Yankho Singo’s 19%, and Nickson Nyasulu’s 3%.
Congrats Mapemba! Keep going.
