Mwaungulu completes move to Mazembe

FCB Nyasa Big Bullets is delighted to confirm that Patrick Mwaungulu has completed a permanent move to TP Mazembe.

The versatile midfielder has signed a two-year contract with the Ravens of Lubumbashi, with a one-year option to extend.

Mwaungulu joined The People’s Team from Mzuzu-based Sanwecka FC in 2018 following his exploits in the FCB Under-19 League.

He spent five years with our reserves before earning his promotion to the first team at the start of the 2022 season.

In his first season with Kalisto Pasuwa’s side, the 22-year-old made 32 appearances in all competitions, scoring 11 league goals and recording 24 assists.

Last season saw him making 38 appearances in all competitions from which he scored eight league goals and had nine assists in 24 matches.

In the FDH Bank Cup, he made five appearances, scoring one goal and he was involved in eight of the 13 goals we scored in the competition, winning three Player of the Match accolades.

Mwaungulu featured twice in the Airtel Top 8 Cup from which he had two assists.

He also made three appearances in the CAF Champions League, and the Castel Challenge Cup in which he scored one goal.

The Malawi international bagged two accolades, winning the 2023 TNM Super League Player of the Season and the FDH Bank Cup Player of the Season.

This season, before leaving for the Democratic Republic of Congo last month, he made 10 appearances in the league, scoring five goals and featured once in the FDH Bank Cup, scoring two goals.

In total, Mwaungulu made 81 appearances for the club, scoring 27 goals.
